Abstract

Increased arginase activity in diabetics is thought to play a role in hypertension and hepatic disfunction. This work investigates the role of arginase levels in collagen formation, which is believed to be correlated with these negative health effects. It also examines the ability of selected drug and drug candidates to alter arginase levels and collagen formation.
